Default These aren't new but... continued

Hey Travis, Hope you and the other members want mind if I follow up on this subject. I went into my records and counted the buttons (excluding any unidentified, recent or underwear buttons) I've found in just under 10 year. Some of these are just button faces, backs, mashed, damaged but still Civil War or Coin. My total to date: 67 cuff/vest, 163 coat and 31 coin/floral bringing the total to 261. I'll post a scan of the best I have upon request. You've seen the best and the only CS buttons on another post. I've sold several common US buttons on eBay so I could by myself some other goodies.

Thanks For Looking, HH Roger

Hey Roger,
Yes, I have seen some of those nice buttons and they are sweet. I have not been as fortunate to find many CW military type buttons but do have quite a few of the coin buttons. Many of the old hunting places in Va. were old, 1700' to 1800's, house and plantation sites. I remember getting to a place with my hunting buddy and hitting a spot that produced about 200 coin type buttons between the two of us (buddy got the majority). It was at a large plantation that must have had its own tailor shop. We thought we were in heaven as this place was supposed to have been another "hunted out" spot. I would love to get into another spot like that. I would not mind seeing some of your buttons again, posted here. They are worth seeing again and again. Have you been able to get some digging in?
Travis

Default I'll Post A Scan Soon

Hey Travis, It's so dry here that one would need a portable air compressor and a jack hammer to dig! I haven't wasted the gas to go Civil War detecting in several weeks now! I've been going fishing and searched the swimming area at a local lake last Sunday. Someone had already been there as they left their holes open with pull tabs everywhere! Either they didn't want the pennies and took the larger coins or they found very little? I dug 24 pennies, 1 dime and a small Whale tail pendant that appears to be silver? Of course I dug those pull tabs that went came in above 30 and some foil that came in around 8 to 10.
I will get a scan of my buttons soon! I did another Sourthern Thang tonight! A Friend dropped off some Turnips with the green, I cut, washed and cooked one pot of greens. Cut up and put the rest in the frig. until tomorrow night! Taking a mess along with the pepper sauce I made earlier this year for lunch tomorrow.

Take Care, Happy Digging & Good Luck, Roger
