Default New Year's Day Park Trip

I didn’t get out at all in December, so I decided to start the new year out right. This park is HUGE, so there is a lot of ground to cover.
The weather was typical Pacific NorthWest fare: It was pouring rain as I pulled up, all the while in bright sunshine, with a big rainbow.
Fortunately, the rain stopped as I pulled the DFX out of the car!
I went to a high traffic area, and started the day’s search along some large trees. Second hole out, within 20 feet of the car, I pulled the first coin of the year out of the damp earth, a 1981-D penny.
I followed the line of trees, extracting coins, can slaw, and pull tabs along the way.
The area underneath benches yielded a few coins as well.
In spite of the park being there 80+ years, today was not the day that my two year long Silver drought would be broken.
I’m sure anyone else would have found three Brasher dubloons, an 1804 silver dollar, and at least five previously unknown San Francisco mint coins within a few minutes of arriving.
Still, it was great to be able to get out and hunt, especially knowing that most folks won’t be detecting until warmer weather arrives.
Total coins recovered: 8 coins for a value of 24 cents.

Pennies: 6
Dimes: 2

Hope you are all having a good Holiday season!

HH! -Tom
