Default Major Key 1892-O Barber half dollar found....

...along with a 1904-S and 8 others. I scored a "lot" of 10 barbers on eBay for just under 90 bucks.

I have 2 guys poised to fight over the 92-O. The last one on eBay that was in comparable condition, closed at just over 300 dollars. The 1904-S is probably a 40 dollar coin as well and is a semi key to the series with a mintage just around half a million coins.

I wish I could tell you I was diggin' up all kinds of good stuff....but I haven't been out of the house.

Wyatt

It would indeed be great to find stuff like that with the detector. All it takes is a site of the proper age which has seen a lot of commercial traffic.

...now all we have to do is find such a spot.

I agree Greg....we need to get together soon. I'd love to show you this set of half dollars. I have 53 of the 73 Barber half issues now. They are starting to get a trifle spendy, so I'll sell the 92-O to buy some of the coins for the last page....namely the 13 and 15 philly coins. I already acquired a 1914 in VG-8....mintage just over 122,000 coins.

Just saw one of my son's buddies at the local mom and pop store...and am going to go sniff around that yard this afternoon for awhile. The house is from the 1920s. I might get lucky and find something good. Never know unless you look. Not apt to find any barber halfs today though.
