Default Not metal detector related but a great find !!!

While going through my Mother in law's shoebox of full of old letters we found a letter addressed to a Delaware Senator Henry Latimer and signed by President John Adams dated 1801 inviting him to the last session of Congress before the Inagural of Thomas Jefferson.
We had the letter authenticated and appraised today and were offered $10,000 to buy outright but decided to put out on consignment and high end estimate was $20,000 if we find the right collector.
We also found a document signed by about 20 people possibly including George Reed who signed the Declaration of Independance but not sure if it's him or his son ,and and in the letter they were requesting cash reimbursment for sending slaves to fight the War and not exactly sure which War but is authentic letter and need to find out about signature.
My brother in law said there is a whole box of papers he didn't go through yet.
Before it's out of the family's hands i will have some pics even if i have to E-Mail to someone for posting. I thought stuff like this happened to everybody else not us HH Bill

Thanks everyone and yes you never know where treasure can be found.

Greg, i e-mailed Pappy and mentioned i would like to write something for the March Letter. I will get some pics of the Documents and send with article. The boxes of letters were given to my Father in Law's uncle instead of $5000 compensation when the estate was sold and demolished and everyone lost their jobs. I'll write more on it for the newsletter. My brother in law has them now and will get pics soon . HH Bill
