There are some scary things to be found on a highschool football field.

Nice coin finds! Coffee time! Looks like you are getting it cleaned up for them! Hard to believe all that is out there, if you are actually on the field its self. I have never dug a football field before. Ours is fenced in and locked. If you are finding all that, there ought to be some great find hiding!

I find a lot of shell casings and occasionally a few live rounds at the various logging towns around here... Everything from .22 LR and .32 rimfires to 30'06.... Recess must have been pure murder a generation or more ago!
Something I haven't done yet, but will at some point in time is take pix of all the unsafe crap I've found at beaches, school yards, etc. and put them into an album.
If shown to someone that might be lukewarm to you detecting on their turf, it just might make the case that you're keeping the kids safe, and it may make the difference between being allowed to collect or not.
To use a term that the leftists in this country over-use, "we're doing this for the children"!

In the elementry school across the street, I have found loads of .69 caliber minnie balls, 57s and 44s. Turns out that it was occupied by both northern and Southern troops during the Civil War. But I also found un-fired 38s and a 45. That is not counting a school bell(broken), knives, rings, and half dimes and other early coins. You never know what was there before the school. Keep looking; there could be some great finds.
