Default Help on this Gold Wedding Band

I was wondering if anyone could assist me with this Gold Wedding Band I found yesterday. It's about 10.5 mm wide and the only marking is a raised "H" or really the area around the "H" is depressed. Is this a known makers mark? Any way of knowing the karat of this ring without taking it to a Jeweler? Does the mark indicate a time frame of manufacture?

Yes You Guessed It! This is my first Gold that I can keep!
Any Help Will Be Appreciated!
Thank You Very Much.
HH, Roger

Thanking everyone for their reply and assistance. It only weighs 7.5 grams and I guess I'll carry it to see what karat it might be, someday.

Thanks Once Again,
Happy Hunting, Roger

ROGER, You will probably find when you carry it to be assesed that it will be 9K or 10K due to the fact that it is not stamped. 9K will be 37.50% and 10K will be 41.67% or 375 fine and 417 Fine. It may be gold plated....The H is the size....PAPPY

Thanks Pappy,
This old home place hasn't been lived in for at least 50 to 60 year and no sign of the house remains except for the flowers and scattered junk iron.
I've found several gold plated brass wedding bands over the years but this one shines all over!

Thanks Again, Roger
