I had a pretty good day considering I started rough. I stayed up way to late last night playing cards with my wife and parents. Women sure do take Rook serious. LOL Well I hit the field about 9:30 this morning and hunted for about and hour . When a cousin of mine shows up wanting to hunt., so I had to spend a minute with him teaching him how to use the detector. After that I got in about another 30 minutes and I went and got some lunch. Got back then the finds started coming in. First was a 1955 nickel then a 1952 wheat cent. Then I had a small break my belly was really full. I stared back and got a nice 50-55 on the detector and dug me up another IH. I think it is a 1881 I will have to soak it in oil. The rest was just odds and ends but still a great day with 2 cousins. I’m sure glad these 2 fellas joined me in such a great hobby.

Later Will

You really did have a good day. Even better spending it with family. I hope you have more days like that.

Awesome finds you and cousins made that day!

Some advice, when you do find a old IH, just take a little olive oil in a tight case(like a old 35mm film case with you)so you can drop old oxidized coins in olive oil before you get them home and they will turn out nice for you. I learned from this old Thing buddy in 1979!
