I decided to hit an old park in the middle of town. I have found many old coins in this park this year, but they are difficult to come by. I only found two coins today-- 1908 IH and a 1928 Wheatie. The IH sounded off with a crisp sound and then it became "cracky." I took many different angles on the target and on two of them I got no reading. So, I went back to the first angle that I swept and I got a "somewhat" jump reading again. I decided to pinpoint it and the depth read at 3 inches. So, I decided to dig it. After taking some dirt out, I put my pinpointer in the hole and got a beep in the side of the hole. It was then that I saw the coin. I knew that it had to be an old coin! I got very excited because I knew that many other detectorists missed this target because they thought it was junk. I pulled the coin out and I saw the "wreath" on the back. It turned out to be a 1908 Indian Head! I have 19 Injuns this year!
