Hey all !!!! We are just getting thawed out up here in the northern New York. Finally !!!!! Anyways had a semi nice day the other day and decided to fire up the old XLT and see if the ground had thawed enough to do some digging. Wow to my surprise

, within two steps of turning the detector on I got a very strong hit at 1½" I found what appears to be an old copper, but due to it's condition it was hard to tell. After a little soap & water, I posting some pics on the (treasurenet.com) forum and together with the help of fellow MD'ers, we've identified my find as a
(1770-1775) George III Half Penny. What a way to start the season.....From local history I know that the British were definatly in the area during the Rev. War and to think there were kind enough to leave me a coin
