Default Seated Liberty dime!

I got out today to a local cemetery with Rob and his daughter, Taylor. I hunted the fringes again and I got quite lucky! I found my 2nd Seated Liberty dime of the year. The target read a perfect "dime" and was 6 inches deep. I dug down six inches and picked my detector up to scan the dirt I just dug out. It was then that I got the "dime" reading in the dirt; I started to get excited. I used my pinpointer to find it. I could not believe my eyes: an 1854 Seated Liberty dime with rays was staring me in the face. It saw light for the 1st time in 140 years. Zoyboy couldn't grace us with his prescence; he had other duties to perform. I think after this one he and Blitz will be or me.

Boobie, I use a White's Pro XL with a standard Blue Max search coil, even though I don't "Max"!

Mr. Silver, have you found seated coins near any graves? Have you ever found a seated half in a cemetery?

Nice Coin Keith!
Just my two cents worth: "I see no problem hunting the outer fringes of a cemetery or other places within". But I have read somewhere at sometime that there is a Federal Regulation that prohibits digging (maybe including metal detecting) in Cemeteries. I don't know the reason for this but I think I would ask questions before going inside around the head stones, etc.

It's worth asking before hand rather than trying to talk your way out of a mess afterwards!

Cool Cemetery Taboo

There are some who find it perfectly justifiable to access the inside parimeter of a cemetery but some find it apalling.

The only way one should access inside is if requested to find a lost item, and then only with permission.
It is not a federal crime but local law inforcement may be rather strict because of other vandalizm issues, and or historical significance.

Out4gold

BTW: It is a unaminous dicision through Lone Star Treasure Club to keep cemeteries TABOO. This should be an issue with any treasure organization.

Default Hey Kieth!!

I found seated coins from half-dime,dime,quarter, to half dollar in a cemetery. But you better Ask Permission first before you enter the cemetery.
Some states do not allow near the graves or site.
