Default Saw Mill Site

I was reading a local history book when I came across a mentioning of a saw mill in my area. It was built in 1856 and ended sometime before 1900. The site where it once stood is near the railroad tracks and is very grassy. It is a vacant lot today and is not owned by anyone. Zoy and I are excited about detecting it because it may be virgin territory. Has anyone ever detected an old saw mill site? We may be walking out with some nice finds.

hey kieth ! could be a good spot also for old bottles and anthing to do with the railroad is highly collectible. But i would look into this some more as all property belongs to someone and being close to the tracks there would be R.R rightof way issues. good luck !HH....Terry
