Default 20th Indian Head!

I got out detecting today with Zoyboy and Rob at a local cemetery. We stuck to the fringes again. I found 2 Wheaties and a 1907 Indian Head penny. We had an undercover police officer in a black car watching us in the cemetery, but he soon figured out that we meant no harm and were actually cleaning the area up. Another officer in his car went by slowly and then kept on going. I guess they both knew that we were there for coins. They did not give us any problems, so I guess that it is only a moral issue not a legal issue to be detecting in a cemetery. If it was illegal I think that they would have "kicked" us out. TN, hey buddy, I pulled ahead one .

Default Nice finds

I've found 2 old cemetaries, when you say fringe, are you talking on the outskirts. Or do you mean along the car and foot paths as well through the cemetary.

When I say fringes I mean along the grassy car paths and walkways. They tend to be very productive. I am going to write my City Hall to get permission to detect this cemetery. It is city owned and I don't think they will have a problem with us detecting it if my club and I offer our services free of charge (cleaning litter, righting fallen stones, finding lost grave markers, etc.). This cemetery was started in 1850 and not many headstones are new. So, I think that they may give us permission because not many people visit the graves.
