I found this in my yard about 1" down, it was dusty but not really dirty. Can anyone tell me what this is? It appears to be a coin but I cant make any of it out. Thanks.

Definitely Roman. The design on the back is called "camp gates". Post the piccy on UKDN as we have several Roman coin experts who will ID it for you.

Our resident Roman coin expert (Folkert) has cast his eye on this little one and ID'd it as follows:

Follis of Constantine ) (306-337 AD),
Obv: laureate head to right, CONSTANTINUS PF AUG
Rev: PROVIDENTIAE AUGG, camp gate with two turrets (between them a star). Sorry, I cannot read the mintmark, but this reverse type was minted 324-330 AD

Unfortunately that would be classed as a low grade coin over here. You could probably pick one up for around £5. The only thing that would increase the value is if it was from a rare mint.

Yeah, that was the last thing that I expected to find in my yard since the oldest house in my city is only 40 years old.
