Default superglue?

This is my first post...wanted to wait till I found something neat..Been hunting for a couple months, found a few mercs buffs and wheat pennys, but nothing old...Got a solid hit a little below a penny today with the 250 and popped a little silver colored thing out of the hole at only 2 inches deep....Thought it was play money and noticed it was warped...pinched it between my thumb and forfingers lightly and it snapped in half..

Default your coin

wow too bad you snapped it in half what you have there is a Variety 1 silver three cent pieces (trimes) they were minted from 1851-1873
and was the smallest of the U.S. silver coins. if it wasn't snaped in half it would be worth around 22 to 30 dollars .. very nice find though

I would be still crying if I did that . That is why you need to be careful when you pull anything out of the ground. Learn your coins and handle them with care and respect. Nice find, though. Don't superglue it; it will look like crap. Just keep it how it is.

Default Wow Ed, Terrific Find

I've never seen one of those, either. Very nice.
When I see old coins posted like that, I have to let my mind wander to the person who lost it, and what they were doing that particular day so many years past.

Very envious, I'm a newbee and I've yet to find anything beyond the 60 cents I found in my back yard with my new metal detector!! (at least I know my metal detector really is pointing to coins, when it says it is:) Well sometimes, I did find a washer that my metal detector said was a dollar!

Keep it up, its inspiration for newbees like me:

My guess is that since it was found in a farm field in the bottom that it had quite a bit a fertilize over the years, and maybe the bend in it had also weekend it...because I applied very little pressure to it and it snapped..it wasn't like I was applying pressure to bend it back into shape...But I'll be headed back to the same area this weekend.
