My Best Civil War Find
Even though I've found a few plates and buttons, this bullet embedded into a tompion is my favorite. Either this soldier was lazy or scared!

I googled it and got a hit on Tampion- A plug or cover for the muzzle of a cannon or gun to keep out dust and moisture.
