Default cruise leds to Vickie and silver!

From the land of the Bluenose....thought I'd woken up in the fog but it was only the remnant of Bud's visit at the Patriot Days Street dance that Marie and I attended last night. In my haze I was trying to figure out a way that I could get out for a dig so I suggested to the boss that we take a cruise on the Dartmouth to Halifax fery and do lunch on Spring Garden Rd. Noticed that the Canadian flag hung proudly over the concert area near the ferry terminal.

Were else can one board the oldest continuous salt water ferry in North America for a mere $2. The day was overcast with the odd light dousing of rain. Still the scenery on the cruise was great. Shown here are the twin Purdy Towers that grace the harbour front.
Once on the Halifax side we were piped in.

As we headed along the waterfront we met up with Theodore the tugboat and a swarm of motorcylists enjoying the downtown scene.

Heading west towards city square I glanced up to see what time it was as I was getting antzie about going on a digging. Between the downtown buildings is the historic town clock.

After a quick lunch we headed home and I geared up for a combo dig/swish at a nearby swimming area and started with a land dig that netted me a 1952 and 1961 dime as well as a 1900 Vickie penny. After the short dig on land I headed to the water to swish and cool off as my head was throbbing too much to bend over and dig holes. Lady luck smiled upon me and I hit several loonies and a 925 ring. Total for the day was a musket ball, 2 keys, the dimes and large cent, silver ring and 25 coins (including those listed ) $3.43
