Default V-Nickel

I got out today to a hill that is behind a local elementary school. I have heard that this area has been hit in the past, but I went there with a positive mind. Within 5 minutes of turning my detector on, I got a nice reading. It pinpointed at 4.5", so I dug a hole and out popped a beautiful 1904 V-nickel (4th of the year). About 3 feet below it, I got a "Penny" reading. It pinpointed at 5.5", so it was "diggable." This proved to be a 1944 Wheatie.

Zoyboy and Blitz could not grace me with their prescence, and I was happy with that .

I do love finding those V-nickels. Everyone is a new thrill. I was suprised to find one on this hill. My uncle has hunted this hill in the 90s and found Buffalo nickels and a Mercury dime, but not a coin this old. And, considering its condition, I believe, that it may have been dropped around 1908-1910. This school was built in the 60s, so try to figure that one out .
