It's been quite awhile since I've posted here, primarily because I have had precious little time to get out. It's been too blasted hot much of the last month, but our kids moved to a house built in the 50's and I managed to find a 42 quarter in that yard, along with a cub scouts ID bracelet, a cub scouts motto token....and then last week a scored a 61-D quarter from downtown, along the sidewalk. Those couple quarters were nice finds, but today I went to the park here in town....since I noticed that the magistrate no longer lives there...and he was the only one to ever give me grief about searching the old park. I spent about 3 hours there this evening since t was cool enough for it to be enjoyable....and pulled these 6 coins from the ground.
I have never seen a more worn standing liberty quarter. That things been spent enough times to buy Milwaukee.

The old gal was fully 7 inches deep.
Tonight's "game" was "quarters or better"....and I didn't dig any pennies, nickels or dimes....but I did end up with 3.25 in modern quarters as well. The silver dimes register nearly as high on the meter as a quarter....and when I have one of those signals registering 5 inches deep....I'm diggin'. More times than not a High dime/low quarter signal will be a silver dime.
