Default pocket spill woo hoo !

Whent to an old church site, built in 1820, that burnt down last year and found a brass dragon and silver somthin or other.Weeds were very high so i'll have to come back in the spring or fall.I got permission from the owner and was mainly looking for a bronze statue lost in the fire. Then i decided to search another spot that i recently got permission to hunt.I spent about 3 hours with nothing to show but a couple of 22 shells and a 1990 nickel. On my way back to the car i got a good coin signal and dug an 1898 barber quarter, cheaked the hole and found a1908-s barber dime, cheaked again and got a 1925 merc, then once again and got a 22 buffalo !

Nice digs for sure. The merc is in great shape....and if it has a D mintmark, it's a low mintage and desirable date....

Whatever the case, what a great find. The best pocket spill I ever found was several years ago....there was a couple 42 mercs and a few 41-42 wheats in the same hole that I foound while detecting at an older church. It was on a hillside....and the mercs were like new even after being in the ground for 50 years.

Good luck working that site. Barber coins are always a good sign.

Still a nice addition to your set/collection, especially in that condition.....as are barber coins....in any condition.
