Default Another trip to Clad Quarter Heaven...2 1/2 hrs...BONUS!

Well......at 5:00 o'clock I hopped into the car to go back to the local high school and see if I could snag some more clad quarters to buy some silver with. There was an area which I had not yet touched...about 30 feet by 60 feet. It was in this fresh area that I found almost 5 dollars worth of clad quarters...then continued re-scanning areas I'd previously blown through.

Our webmaster's old machine is a "quarter killer".....and it continues to bring home the bacon. Tonight's haul of clad....$9.88....there were some "cling-ons" which is what I call dimes and pennies that are in the hole when I'm specifically seeking quarters in this manner....and I dig clear nickel signals in case there may be a ring....so I nabbed a few nickels too...five I think.

The real bonus was the quarter signal that registered at 5 to 6 inches. I am thinking "hey....a silver dime".....nope....a silver quarter. Now I can buy 2 walkers and (with the 52 quarter) put 3 pieces of silver into the bag tonight.

Go get that clad. It spends nicely and it ain't hard to find either.

Wyatt

You are surely cleaning up on the clad & silver in Greensboro.

I know your one heck of a good detectorist with that 6000 di pro in your hand.

This school was untouched for the last 15 years.

I've now bought over a roll of silver halves in the last 3 weeks with dug clad....and found 32 silver coins to boot. I'm startin' to get a nice pile of booty.

To those who find digging clad beneath their dignity...I offer a hearty "Thanks a heap".....cuz I like this stuff....and it all used to be clad. I think that some in the hobby need to re-evaluate their standards where digging clad is concerned.

This is only 3 weeks worth....of "used to be" clad.

I intend to make time this fall. I know folks like older stuff....but I just like silver....it doesn't have to be 100 years old.

Actually....5 of the coins in that picture are "stand ins".....and there are actually 7 more halves enroute....but 5 are represented by other coins in that picture.

Clad is great.....can't get enough.

Hey Rip.......

The gold would be OK....silver makes a bigger pile though.

When I get a boatload of silver....maybe I'll sell it off and buy gold.
