Default I didn't find Mr Silver's dime...but I got one this AM

I went back over to the school this morning and the finds are getting fewer there. I managed 3.99 in clad....and a 1961 Rosie that was near a small fragment of iron. The signal was a bit jumpy, but I dug it anyway. That'll probably be it for awhile for me....until I round up some new sites. There are some I'd like to do that are 5-6 miles from here....but the nice thing about the sites I've done well at, is that they're all within a mile of my house. With gas at 3 bucks a gallon...close to home is a good idea.

I ended up with 4 silver coins and that sterling cross pendant from the high school, which was built in 1924. That's testimony to how hard that piece of ground was worked over in the 80s.

There are still good sites out there....and I am going to need to find myself a couple more.

Greg......did you do OK at the Park?....Any silver?

Wyatt

Thanks Pete......

I'm just glad that the team effort at the park here in town, which featured at least 3 minelab machines.....didn't turn into a Minelab commercial, making me feel as though I really need a new machine. It is great that those guys found some silver....but I'm relieved that my old 6000 seems to have done pretty well there inasmuch as I don't feel like I left hoards of unfound silver there. There's always that part of any of us that thinks....geez if I could only go another inch or 2 down......and you wonder what you're missing.

I'm happy with my machine, and I know how to use one after 19 years of using the same circuitry (actually 6 years...13 of those years the machine was in mothballs)

I couldn't justify spending the big bucks on a new machine, and it appears as though I'll be able to hold my own for awhile with the old analog machine.

I thought about you last thursday. I was at an OLD high school and they had just removed the old brick road (yes, it was a "yellow brick road") but the problem....is that they had set the bricks in black, magnetic sand. I know how you like doing demolition/renovation sites...but this one was to give up no silver to my pouch.

Hey Wyatt, maybe the kids picked my silver dime when I left yesterday, the kids had a treasure of their own, looking for paper clips...etc on the ground, putting in the their paper bags for prizes.
Or it might be still out there,I was near the parking lot, in open area by the left of big trees facing lot, looking at the road.,at church's side.
It was only a Roosy.it missed my purse
Great finds on your part

I was down there last week and had a few little treasure pals for awhile. I had a hard time keeping fingers out of the hole. One little girl ran to her mother yelling "Hey Mom...He has a money finder"

Guess I'll go see if I can get any more goodies this evening, probably back at the school. There are still places there that I haven't done. Maybe some of the outer edges hold some prizes yet. There's about 3 times the area of the little park to cover, and while I've done alot...I have yet to cover all of it.

Hi Wyatt,
I found a 62 dime and a fist full of dimes, pennies & quarters.
The ground was bone dry. Once the rain hits they'll be more finds.
I just detected a small are much like Mr. Silver did.

I'll have the video up tonight

You know what a great detector is, Wyatt. I also own a White's 6000 Pro XL and I will never give it up for any other detector on the market today. In the last two times I have been out, I have recovered 38 Wheaties, 2 Indian Heads, a 1948 Canadian cent, and 5 silver coins.By the way, I found 22 Wheaties, a 1907 Indian Head, a 1948 Canadian cent, and 4 silver coins today. The 4 silver coins -- a 1919 and 1945-S Merc, a 1946 Rosie, and a 1943-P war nickel -- were found in the same hole with 8 Wheaties.Keep the 6000 spirit alive, brother!

Hi Perry....

I actually did dig a buffalo about the same depth at the old schoolhouse. It was every bit of 6 inches deep....and have dug a seated dime at 8 inces in wet soil....right where the downspout on her garage drains into my mother's yard.

I'm happy with it......if it were to break and be unrepairable...I'd just buy another used one. I think they got it right when they made the 6000.
