Default Today's Dug and Undug Finds

I went out digging for a couple hours this evening at the homesite where I found the Mercury and Barber dimes. Dug quite a bit of trash and managed to pull out this 1918 wheat cent. My best finds of the night came after I got called back out to work to handle a burglary call. Stopped by one of the local convenience stores and talked with the clerk. He asked if we had any reports of stolen coin collections and then proceeded to show me what he received from one of his customers: a 1936D Buffalo Nickel and a 1900 V Nickel. Before I left the store, he handed them to me and told me to keep them. I think I will frequent that store more often now.

That's pretty cool. Treasure is where you find it. I think I'd definitely frequent that store more often.

I'm still waiting for my buffalo nickel to get here so I can see if I got hosed out of 2 bucks.

carolinachief that is the way to start a coin collection.
Just have people give you the coins.
I like that method.

Boobie....I think you need a police uniform to do that. You could just tell folks you're taking the coins into evidence

Wyatt,

If only I could do that. The person who gave them to me has done some work for me in the past with some cases I was working and is a real good guy. He has also recently gotten some terrible news. Found out he has several inoperable brain tumors and they are only giving him around 18 months if the tumors don't progress any faster than they are now. He needs lots of prayer.
