Default after all those nickels and tabs....finally...

I hit my first gold ring in years this morning. I stopped at the park to see where a buddy of mine was detecting....and guided him to an area that's not been hit too hard, but which has produced silver in the past. He talked me into "digging a few" with him (yeah, that was real hard )

So....8 nickels and a few pennies later....I finally made digging nickels and pulltabs worthwhile with an 18K gold wedding band which gave me a strong and solid nickel reading at 2 inches. It's marked 750 inside, which is the decimal equivalent of 18K.

I'm happy....it's just 2 grams.....but I don't care, it's been a long time since I saw that color in the hole. I'd forgotten how sweet it looks.

Way to go Wyatt. Nice find. The color of gold looks so good against the color of dirt. Just love it. JoAnne

I did the math and it's actually less than 35 dollars worth of gold....but heck, I get excited about finding a silver dime. This is the equivalent of finding a half a roll of 'em.

It does rather inspire one to go on a "pulltabs and nickels only" hunt. I didn't have too much time this morning....who knows, maybe the engangement ring is there somewhere too. I'll be snoopin' in that general vicinity some more....for sure.
