Default Finally working

Finally my camera is working. Here are some pictures of the buttons I found. One is not in very good condition. Anyone give me any suggestions as to what they are? Are they divil war or culd they possibly be 1812. Are they modern? Neither of them have backs.

That is a shame 'bout the backs. They do appear to be civil war area or later. I do hope they are. Where did you find them? Could it be an area that had some activity?

Good luck and happy hunting

Default Buttons

This design of button was used by union troops in the civil war, but also has been used since that time. Was there any known civil war camps or skermishes in the area where these were found? Judging from pictures they could very well be from the civil war era. Hope this helps nice find congradulations and hh. Jeff and Stacie

Within the last 10 years our air base has been shut down and the property was turned over to the City of Plattsburgh. Now for the first time this property was available to non military people. I found these two button covers on a little beach on the air base which is located on Lake Champlain. They were among the rocks and kind of blended in. I did not see them until the detector went off. Since it is a military base I figure they could be very old. I am sure there were people stationed there during the civil war and as far back as the war of 1812. JoAnne
