Default 2 silver dimes while waiting for some glue to dry...

I had to wait about an hour for some glue to set up on a piece I'm working on....so I hopped in the car and headed to the park...well, next door actually. I worked a bit in back of the roller rink and started hitting deeper wheats. I was hopeful that it was a good sign....maybe the ground actually was wet enough for me to get some silver

It was an odd day....I saw a flock of geese heading north.....why?...I don't know. I do know my detector was "in the zone" for whatever reason.

I was there about an hour before I dug the 47 rosie.....also strange...because it registered as a penny and actually was shallow enough to have an audible beep in discriminate mode....so I was very surprised when a silver dime popped out of that hole.

Then I went to the entrance area of the roller rink and got the 45 merc at about 5 inches on the meter.....6 inches in reality. The ground was a good bit wetter there than it has been for quite awhile and I was getting a halo reading....good sign for things to come. This hurricane will finally bring us the rain we need so badly.

Totals for the 2 hours....

2 clad quarters
7 clad dimes
2 silver dimes
1 nickel...1964
14 memorial pennies
5 wheat pennies...all in the 50s

I get to glue another piece on before I can do the inlay work.....and if I hrry, there's still a little daylight left.

Boobie.....You ever get one of those days when you just know that the detector's punching deeper into the ground? That's what today was like. It happens every so often....no idea why.

I used to hate waiting for glue to dry....might not be too bad after all.

Hey John......I went back from 7 o'clock to 8 o'clock and got 2 more rosies. One was very near the entrance to the roller rink....and it was shallow. I kind of always stayed away from that area because it's limestone chips just beneath the surface. The one I dug there is grey and black...looks like a clad dime that's been laying in the grass for a couple weeks.

The second dime was about 5 inches, very near the merc I dug earlier.

I used tarn-x to remove the black spots from the merc. It did so very quickly. Here's a picture of the 2 I just dug. I've taken before and after pictures of those 2 .....tarn-x works great. The surfaces are still damaged, but they sure look better.

I just looked at these with my loupe.....the really ugly one is a 1948-S..cool

I have to call my friend and ask him if he got it.

I did figure out where the guy got these coins though. He bought one of those lots on eBay for 25 bucks where you get one indian head, one steel penny, one merc...and so on. He's selling off all but the silver. I still have my fingers crossed. I'll update that thread when I find out what I got.

understand....I wasn't about to set up an eBay account for a 2 dollar purchase...and that's why my buddy "knocked it down" for me.

My 6000Di Pro is a silver slayer. I've now found 40 plus silver coins in the last 5 weeks.
