Default Oh ye of little faith...pictures for Gregory

When Greg and I were at the park last week, I was talking about how some folks doubt the finds of others, and he said that indeed somebody here had questioned whether or not I really found all of the stuff that I have claimed. For shame.....there's nothing to be gained by lying about my finds. On the other hand, if you choose not to believe me...no problem....as it has no effect whatever on how many coins end up in the jar.

I have never even stretched the truth.....not even a little bit. I have days that suck....and have had my share of good ones too. I use any and every opportunity to add silver to my "cache". The photos attached represent 4 1/2 months of serious hunting and buying silver with dug clad....and include 32 silver coins given to me by a friend (26) and my wife (6)....who was holding out on me. When I first met Greg and John last October...I had a plastic tube with 29 silver dimes in it and a few other odd coins...but probably no more than 40 or 50 coins total.

Greg....you mentioned wanting to use a picture of my stash for a contest. You can feel free to use either or both of these photos. I recuse myself of any such contest of course...because I know how many silver coins there are in the pictures.

Wyatt

Excellent Wyatt - that is fantastic. Who cares if someone does not believe you. You know the truth. I personally have no reason NOT to believe you. Keep hunting that silver. JoAnne

Hey...I just thought of something......I'm going to supply the prize for the contest as well. Reckon this commemorative half would do? I don't care much for high maintenance coins that I can't touch...so it's perfect from my viewpoint.

Greg, when you come over this way I'll give it to you since you administer the contest and it is your website. Besides...I'm too lazy.

It doesn't really bother me Joanne, that some folks don't believe. Many people live in areas where there's precious little to be found....because the areas aren't old enough. We don't have that problem here though.

Wyatt

I Believe. I Myself Have Found Over 130 Silver Coins. This Is Just From Digging. But Also Note This Comes From 10-11 Years Of Searching Acres Of Areas. This Hobby Is Also An Obsession, My Drug Of Choice, So To Speak.

Exclamation Nice Finds

WYATT THOSE ARE SOME NICE FINDS. I THINK THAT PEOPLE WHO SAy THEY DONT BELIEVE YOU ARE EITHER JEALOUS OR INEXPERIENCED IN OUR HOBBY. BUT WE GET RIDICULED ALL THE TIME.... HOW MANY TIMES HAVE PEOPLE LAUGHED AT YOU WHEN YOU ASKED PERMISSION TO DETECT? SOME PEOPLE JUST DONT REALIZE HOW MUCH STUFF IS LOST EVERYDAY, THEY PICTURE US DIGGING UP ONLY PULL TABS, AND OLD SOUP CANS AND THE SUCH. I THINK IF YOU ARE KIND ENOUGH TO SHARE YOUR FINDS WITH OTHERS THE SHOULD RESPECT THEM AND MOST OF ALL SHOULD BE MOTIVATED TO GET OUT THERE AND TRY TO BETTER THEMSELVES AT OUR HOBBY. AFTER ALL IT IS ALSO GREAT EXERCISE AND A WAY TO SEE PARTS OF THE COUNTRY AND HISTORICAL ITEMS WHICH OTHERWISE WOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN NOTICED. THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR FINDS AND GOOD LUCK!

Default Very well said Wyatt!!

I had some skepticism in the past with my old finds about the beautiful condition of coins being that they're old.....what do you really gain if you lie or cheat with this hobby....just too look good on the forum or website!?!?!?

That's the nature of this hobby for those people who are honest with they're finds.....you can have a dry spell for a long time and then the next time be of GREAT Cheer and find some nice stuff!

Very rare to go out all the time and always strike gold or silver....unless your Wyatt or Pappy!

Happy Hunting
John

Default I dont beleve it....

That someone would think your lying ! Nice jar of silver there Wyatt ! Back in the 70's i could've filled them jars easy in 1 summer of searching, and that was using an old bounty hunter bfo unit ! One of my first finds was a 1930's quarter that i found in my g.grandfathers yard.Had to chip it out of the ice as it was Christmas day ! I think its still posible if you can get permission to hunt private yards as most areas like parks, schools, fairgrounds and the like have been hit pretty hard. But i still find silver in these spots just few and far between.I found an old ballfield last fall that had never been searched and have found about 30 silver coins there so far.Hit it last sunday but couldent only search the edjes as there are crops planted but still fouind a 39 merc and 1916 weetback.
