...when you're not, you're not. Last 3 hunts....just under 5 bucks in total....and NO silver...zero...zip...nada. I am ready to declare the park and adjacent property "clean". I reallize that others may still find an occassional coin....but I found nearly 50 there in the last 2 months. For my detector...and my skill level....I think that's all she wrote for that parcel of real estate. Like the old schoolhouse I worked over last fall, it was fun while it lasted.
Wonder what my next trick is gonna be? It's gonna be somewhere else, that's for sure. Wyatt |

You guys can come down if you want. There are probably a few more silver coins on 5 acres that are out of the reach of my machine. The effective depth on a silver dime for mine is about 6 inches....more typically 5 inches. In most of the park, the topsoil ends at about 6 inches. There are a few places where the topsoil layer is thicker....and other areas where there's fill over the original topsoil. You dig through 4 inches of clay and rock fill....and then hit topsoil.
I just want to find another place that has 50 more silver coins for me (The school produced 43).....w/o having to spend an eternity looking for a single coin. I like going places and bringing home 4-6 pieces of silver in a couple hours. I am less excited about hunting for 4-6 hours for one silver coin. Wyatt |
