Default Anyone identify this?

Managed to go out for a couple of hours yesterday. Went back to the State Park, around the Boy Scout camp and found $1.15 in clad. Also found this object and I can't identify it. It's 3 3/4" but a piece is broke off of the end. It's made of aluminum. Anyone recognize this?

There is no key-way in the slot and with the shape of this thing, I have an idea that it's a replica of a tomahawk/peacepipe, probably used in the Boy Scouts for something. The hatchet part is missing, having been broke off. Let me know what you think. I've searched for replica tomahawks and some made out of brass have a very similiar design.

I think you are probably right with the Tomahawk assumption. The grooves on the side would probably be for the leather thong used to secure the head to the handle. I was kind of leaning that way too....just didn't do the research.
