Default My first SILVER !

I had a wonderful experience yesterday, my first solo flight out with Boobies DFX. It was quite exciting.....

It was a short play trip to my kids place in North Lima . We went to see the Grandkids and I took the DFX over to show my Son-in-law, John. We played in the yard for probably 1 hour while watching my grandson. We were not seriously searching, just walking around swinging it along…. We came across some junk, then one good beep…… we dug and bam, we found us a penny. John was excited with the pull tabs we found and even more excited about the penny. He has never experienced using a metal detector before. We were about to go in the house and I came across another strong signal, about the same reading as the penny. John jumped in with the digger and I said I think this will be another penny…… John dug down to the 4.5 inch mark I said it should be and I saw what looked like the edge of a pop tab. Knowing that the reading was a strong 78-80 as the penny, we dug it up and to both of our amazement it was a Mercury Dime, 1939.

YES…… it was my FIRST SILVER!
Totally unexpected and certainly not worked for too hard, we were just bumping around with the DFX. Of course, I plan on a more serious visit to his yard in the near future !

I just want to publicly thank my good friend Bobbie for introducing me to this wonderful hobbie and the the gracious use of his DFX.

Thankyou !

Respectfully and NEWBIE Starhunter !

Funny thing about mercury dimes.....is no matter how many times you dig one up...it always feels the same. Congratulations......and welcome to the worst addiction I know of....or is that the "best".....I'm not sure. I guess it depends on who you ask.
