Default A Day In The Park

This morning my daughter and I went to the local city park where we started looking for coins. I had the Ace 250 set to Coins setting and the first place I started looking was a trashy area that some stadium seats once stood. It was an ideal spot to search and I found a few coins. I also found a Little League pendant (?). An older gentleman came to chat and to see how we were doing. He pointed out a few places that he found coins, although I didn't make it today to that area of the park. As we left that stadium seat area, we made our way to the kids area (monkey bars, swings, slides, etc.) ... I found more coins on our way there and once there I discovered a few more coins. It seems that I was finding better coins just in the lawn area away from the activity sites than I was on the activity sites. I also found a key, looks like a modern house key. I walked across the street toward the bayou and the detector was picking up a signal of something larger and during my dig I wound up breaking my garden spade! It was time to leave anyways, so I made it back home and counted my findings for the day.
8 quarters
4 dimes
3 nickles
25 pennies
1 house key
1 Little League pendant

This was my first descent day since I owned my detector. There are much more coins at this park, my detector was going off like crazy, especially showing for pennies. I will be back next Sunday, weather permitting.

I am having a hard time posting images up on here. It kept saying that my files were exceeding the maximum file size allowed... I kept downsizing them as much as I was able to, but one of the two images was unable to make the cut... anyone know how I can post the image??? It is in jpg format.

Looks like you did really good, congrats. I can't help you with the picture problem because I run into the same problem with alot of my pictures.

You had a great day and nice that you bring your daughter along to help. If you have a photo program usualy you can re- size the pics or crop them to make them smaller. Im no computer wiz but my kids showed me how to re-sixe and crop.

For the first decent day since since you owned your detector, you sure had a good day.
Getting out with your daughter made it even better.
Congratulations

KenPa - I did manage to crop and resize the picture, and even set the sharp to the lowest setting... I just cannot understand why my images are smaller in size and could not be posted due to being over the maximum file size (in KB). So many other photo's that people submit in these forums are many times larger in size (dimensions) than mine. I will figure it out in time.

boobie - You are so right ... it is not too often my daughter and I spend time together. I wake up every morning at 3:00am and work 'till 4:00pm 6 days a week. I really don't bond all that well and I think by getting another detector, she and I can share hunting together. She did however find a really nice set of pliers today while I was searching at the bayou. She found them lying on top the ground without using a detector. She was so proud of her discovery! So was I!

Are you setting your camera to the lowest/smallest setting? That is easier than trying to manipulate the picture in the computer. The more pixels you use, the larger the size. I use the smallest on my camera and I haven't had any problems with posting, size or quality. Just a suggestion.

Default Hey Stephan....

.....it has to do with not compressing your images first.

Go to the Digital camera Forum, and read my "Sticky Post" on the free download and usage of a program caled IRFANVIEW. It is a breeze to resize you photos as large as 800x600, then compress them to 80% on the save function. They will then upload, and open up to the larger 800x600 size. You can start out with as high a resolution image you want, crop it or not, and then when you resize to 800x600 and compress.....like magic, all your problems will be solved. If you are still having a problem, give me a call at 303-881-6748, and I will talk you through it.

Chuck

Thanks, you guys... This thread was one of the first ones I ever posted here on Treasure Quest way back in October, '06. Since that post was submitted, I have learned how to submit pictures of descent size. Looks like someone has been going through TQ's archives and has dug this old thread up. Still in all, thanks for the help you guys!!!
