Looks like you found a nice collection today!
The train belongs to the Thomas the Train Engine group of toys... my son has a growing collection. It has a magnetic front and back so other trains in the set can "connect". The front should have a "face" ... and "Percy" is one of the names in the Thomas set... They make them different ways... my son has the plastic/magnetic set, but I know the wooden ones are sold as well.

Do many people find gold often>?? Does it depend on the detector at all?

Be Prepared To Dig Up A Lot Of Pull Tabs. I Almost Didn't Dig It, It Was Giving Off An Oddball Type Signal And Reading 50 Vdi. I Walked On But Decided I Would Regret Not Checking It Out, So I Dug It Up Just For Experience Sake, Sure Glad I Did.
