Like a Union worker I hunted about 6 hours, it paid off. I still have Saturday finds to post but they tailed off a bit. That's because I was too burned out, but I still came out with some a few keepers.
You can believe it or not, but I’m actually hunting behind a couple of MD’ers that must be cheery picking. I think one is using a ML because he had a harness type vest on supporting the detector. They leave gapping holes, and when they do dig a zink they just toss it back in the hole or to the side. I’m digging all non magnetic targets. Does anybody know what the thing with the little man with his hands up is? I’ll post a picture of the cleaned up keepers ASAP, and I let you know what the deal on the gold is. . Nice finds. The thing with the man looks like it could be a boy scout or girl scout pin. Not sure but I think that is what it is. HH JoAnne

Congratulations on a SUPER DAY. I hope the stone in the ring is genuine. That would really be nice. What I think is kewl are your 2 toy cars. I always enjoyed seeing them. Can you read the date on the buffalo nickle? I am really interested in what program you used to superimpose the nickle over the picture of the coin in the hole. That is something that I would love to learn how to do. It is a shame that the people in front of you were leaving gapping holes. That is not good for the hobby. Again congratulations on a SUPER day. |

I’m using MS Paint, nothing special. Open up MS Paint. If you don’t see a Tool Box on the left go up to the Tool Bar and select the View tab. Make sure the Tool Box has a checkmark next to it. Now open up a picture. Now in the Tool Box menu select the Rectangular box next to the Star. Now put the arrow on the picture and left click and hold. Now drag you mouse in a rectangular shape and release. Now place the arrow in the rectangular box you just made. Now left click and select copy or cut. You just copied the part in the rectangle. Now you can paste it where you want it. On another picture or on the picture you just copied if from. When you paste it on another picture you well see pasted picture default to the top left corner. Now place the arrow on the transferred swatch. Now hold the left clicker and drag the swatch to the area you want it paste it, Now click on the original picture to set it. The little ring came apart while I was cleaning it; I was using my monster pinky to stabilize it. It’s most definitely gold but it doesn’t have a mark. It was down about 7”, I had to take a hammer to my digging knife to chisel it out. I don’t think that you can see that in the pictures. If anyone wants to debate this I have gobs of evidence that points to that. The stone looks real too, I’ll have it tested and report back. Hey, it originally was a baby ring with a diamond hand set in it. Would you get your baby a fake ring, I don’t think so. It has no sluffing, flaking, pitting or rusting. I do see a little discoloration, but that normal for 10k gold that has been in the ground for a long period of time, depending on what alloy is use to it makes a difference. The coin pictrue is of my totals for Thursday and Friday. Thanks to all for the information on the pin I posted. Last edited by Ant; 11-26-2006 at 09:18 PM. |
