Default Coins, Rifle Shell & 2 Thingamajigs

Today I had a very late start to MD. I took my buddy John with me to the city park and it was his first time out with an old detector his dad had stored up for a while. He found a good bit of trash and not a single keeper...

I did, however, find a few things:
1 - Quarter
2 - Dimes
2 - Nickels
12 - Pennies
1 - Rifle Shell
1 - Girls Thingamajig
1 - Other Type of Jeweled Thingamajig

The Girls thingy is flower shaped with a smily face in it... found it by the swingsets. The other thingy was found within an inch in the ground. When I dug it out I thought it was a ring at first... and it could be, but I doubt it... my wife and I are completely puzzled at what this thing is... it is silverish in color with a jewel resembling a diamond - I do not believe it is a real diamond since it is chipped... don't know for sure. It is very odd shaped... I first thought it was a ring bent badly, however I believe it is supposed to be shaped this way after studying it. If anyone has any idea what this could be, please let me know.

It wasn't such a bad day after all, I guess. Temperature was in the 70's while we were detecting, however those darned mosquito's were tattooing us pretty bad, even through the Deep Woods OFF!

Nice finds FLD, sounds like you are getting to know your detector. I don't even have a guess as to what that 'thingy' could be, but it sure is interesting!!

Still have no clue on that piece. JoAnne - I searched the internet concerning scarf clips, however I couldn't find a single one shaped in a manner as this. I personally do not believe it is a scarf clip, however I have no other idea what it could be.
If I had to make a wild guess, I would say it is a ring from a triangle fingered space alien!
Would have loved to get out to MD today, but sick!!! I have been pumping tons of Vitamin C as well as antibiotics... So far I have gone the entire year without missing a single work day... if I miss any I am forced to take a paid sick day.... however if I do not use any of my sick days (6 total per year) I will get paid for them. I am planning on using that 48 hours of sick day pay to purchase my new detector in the new year ... Please pray that I am able to get through the next 3 weeks without missing work due to this darned bug that bit!

Thank you JoAnne.... Yesterday I do not know how I got through the day at work... I am training a new guy to run the lathe and by the time the work day was almost over, I told my supervisor that I may not be in tomorrow (today). As I was telling him, I got very sick. I drove home, took a hot shower and went to bed... today I called in to work (it kills me, I am not one to want to miss work) and have a Dr.'s appt. in the next hour. Keep those prayers coming, I am hoping to be back at work at 4am tomorrow.
