Default Day In The Park 12.10.06

This morning I arrived at the city park around 7:30. I didn't leave until 1:00pm. The coins I found were all modern with the exception of a 1940 Wheat penny in excellent condition. This was my first wheat in this park, and somehow I think it may have been dropped recently by kids, since I found it less than an inch deep in the mulch by the swingsets. My total in coins for today is $2.46

My finds for today are:
  • 6 quarters
  • 5 dimes
  • 5 nickles
  • 20 pennies
  • 1 Wheat penny
  • 1 plastic Fishing Bobber (laying on ground in sight)
  • 1 Gas connector - like the kind used on propane bottles (laying on ground in sight)
  • 1 BB-sized fishing weight
Overall a good day, relatively quite at the park, I had it practically to myself with the exception of some obnoxious kids who stayed there for about 40 minutes. Came home and was totally pooped! Took a catnap and woke up to some gooood BBQ!!!

Sounds like you are getting to know the beeps of your detector, keep at it How long did it take to find that BB size fishing weight?? I only ask because a couple of times I have found really small bullets(modern) and even with the vibraprobe I had a heck of a time finding them!!!
Good Luck on your next hunt,

Thanks Boobie!

"1 BB-sized fishing weight"
The Ace did a good job finding that. How deep was it?
Boobie & Indy - The "BB-sized fishing weight" was about 2-3 inchs deep and it was in mulched soil where the children's swingsets were located. I had quite a time finding the darn thing, however I would dig where the Ace pinpointed to and I was also using the aid of the Vibraprobe as well, however I would get a slight vibration and then it disappeared! I would have to get up and pinpoint again. The Ace would pinpoint just a little away from where it pinpointed earlier... this went on for a few rounds... getting that slight vibration on the Vibraprobe would come and go a few times as well, I thought to myself that whatever the target was, was rolling around!! How true it turned out to be! I would guess it took around 4-5 minutes to find it.

The first time I used the Ace 250 was in my backyard many weeks ago and my wife and I were digging just about every signal we could find. During that late evening I dug up a BB that was about 4 inches deep... the Ace gave a good tone for it and I was able to find the BB in adequate time, considering that I didn't have a Vibraprobe to help me out back then. I find the Ace is a very reliable machine that has great detecting capabilities. I rarely set the sensitivity high.

Smartfox - That had to be annoying for ya! The obnoxious kids at the park I was hunting at were very LOUD! The park is fairly small in relation to most city parks, and the girls were walking around the park yelling and trying their best to let anyone else in the park (that would be me since nobody else was there) hear them. Either that, or they were trying to show the other who was "badder" - lol! They were early to mid teens, I would imagine. I just kept my MD headphones on and pretended to not hear them at all. They went sit on the swings and continued their own personal pep rally until they finally got bored with themselves and decided to leave.

Default yeah

when these little girls start with their screaming and yelling it is hard to stop them. Even when I tell them to stop in a class as a teacher I usually need to threaten them with detention or a bad grade for the day.
