Default Another dance in the woods

I walked back about a quarter mile and hunted on the side of a hill overlooking a small stream.
I found the 1918 dime four inches deep. I was pumped-it made my day.
Continued hunting and got an iffy signal next to a tree. I dug it and found the 1901 Half down five inches. I felt 10 years younger. What a rush. Did the dance. It was getting dark so I dug one more target. It was a 1918 weatie. There was no clad there and I only dug one tabtop. I dont know what used to be there, maybe a picnic area.
Cant wait to go back. Good hunting to all.

If the Barber half is a San Francisco minted example....it's a real prize. It's a real prize no matter what, but the 1901-S is a semi key date and one in VG would probably fetch 75 bucks....where the philly and New Orleans minted ones might fetch 20.

I can only inagine how much fun that one was to dig. Congratulations!

Wyatt

Thanks Wyatt, It is an O. It was a thrill when I saw it in the plug.

I'm happy for you Merf. I can only imagine how it feels to slip that into your pocket after all those years in the dirt. I've yet to find my first Barber quarter, and while I've found 6 silver halves in the last 14 months....no Barbers.

Wyatt
