Default Ghost town finds Leelo in Illinois

Hello all,...
These are some of my finds from this last week. I finally got permission to hunt an old ghost town, called Perry Springs.... There's well over a hundred acres to hit. Ranging from 1880's to 1930's. Perry Springs was visited by people from all over the world because of the medicinal attraction of the local mineral bathes in the area. At one time there were two hotels, a train depot, several hundred people. but now only remnants of one hotel remains. Some of the finds are.....1864 Quarter Reale, 1849 large penny, 1864 2 cent piece, 1918 & 1943 Mercury Dimes, Aluminum name rivet(E. Thiele), silver ring with moose, ring with possibly 7 diamonds, old silverware, and various other items. Also 1800's Knights of Pythias ring with insignia, this particular item was given to the land owner for compensation.(try to post a Picture at a later date). 1743 european coin and old large swirled shooter marble I found a few years ago at a demolition job in an old house. Just a conversation piece. Thanks for looking don't forget the show saturday 2:30 P.M. central daylight time. To view go to Welcome to my homepage!

Default Perry Springs

I believe my ancestors originally owned Perry Springs or the land right next door in the 1860's. I am imterested in learning anything I can about it and would love to talk with the current owners. Any info you can provide would be helpful.

Thanks Sue
