Disapointing search....... went to a house across the street today, built in 1852 ,over 30 to 40 families have lived there thru the years, active place ,,,but no finds , 2 memorial penny's and a button, really thought this would be a great yard , just goes to show you , you never know ,...but i will try it again and see,,,,,,,,

I know the feeling Dave, went to a house in the summer that is 95 years old numerous families have lived there, detected it twice and found only one 70 something penny and very little trash, I thought that was weird.

Being built in 1852, whatever is there most likely is rather deep.
All you have to do is get a bulldozer and scrape off about 8 inches of topsoil.
Just don't get caught.

Although perhaps the next time you do it up will pop a real treasure.

Default Hey Dave.....

.....that yard may have had topsoil and fill dirt brought in several times over the years. As boobie said, the really old stuff is probably deep.

Default Old 1852 Home!!!

Dave, you need to use a 10 or 12 inch coil and hunt in All-Metals. If you get a lot reponses, switch to low discriminate and check the signas out! Go slow and be prepared to dig deep targets!!!......GOOD LUCK......JOE
