Default First ring find!

Well, on Saturday I took my 3 kids, daughter 6 sons 4 & 3, to a lake beach in at a Maryland state park. I wasn't figuring on finding much because I thought the beaches would have been hunted out. We mainly went so the kids could play in the sand and give my wife a few hours of peace. We found $.08 in clad and a nice silver ring. It went something like this:

This was my first time hunting on a beach, so when the MD went off I would dig a bit and then check the pil;es with the MD and if it went off we would sift thorugh the piles. Well the kids thought this was fun. My daughter found most of the pennys. So the next time it went off I dug the piles and my 4 year old came over to help. So it was me and my 3 kids sifting throuh and my 4 year old says, "I found a ring." I was pretty excited and so was he. (and Honestly I was kind of disapointed that I didn't dig up my first jewlery find, but I am sure he will remember it for a long time, and I am proud of him) That was all he talked about for the rest of the day. That he found a "lucky ring," and that he is my best digger!

Sorry no pic of the ring today but it is 925 sterling with a pink stone. I am going to get it looked at to see what kind of stone it is and if it is even real.

Happy Hunting!

Do3 - that is what real treasure hunting is all about. Not what you find but the bond you create with your friends and family. Those are treasures you can not put a price on. You will find your own ring in time. Enjoy and looking forward to seeing your ring finds.

That is a great story, having the kids sifting through the piles is a great way to get them interested. You may have to buy a detector for the kids..... the four year old will be asking for one next christmas....
