Hey Perry Has been awhile Hope all is well with you!!! Just a little update...

Well we took off again this past weekend taking care of some more things that need attended to and with the cold weather it just halted everything!!! Guess I know how you all up North are feeling!!! Cabin Fever for sure!!! I was just reading some of the posts and took a look at some of the snow pics and was just amazed at the depth that you all get!!! We got some ice and that is a whole different story in it's self...It is exciting when you don't ever see snow or ice but maybe once a year!!!

I was so excited about heading back to Texas to get a try again at CW ground at hopes of just a bullet...But Mother Nature wasn't giving up any treasures to me this weekend...We headed into the area, but the rain and sleet would just not stop!!! I was just in reach...just around the corner...but it wasn't going to happen this weekend.

There will be another trip!!! This girl just doesn't give up!!!

Free...correct!!! I pasted sign after sign to towns for the site locations...It was like aw man!!!!!!!!! 10 miles here and 20 there...just so many!!! Couldn't do much traveling for the roads ended up to slick...cars and trucks all over the place...My relative following us spun their vehicle on the interstate...took us 2 to 3 hrs more just to travel home!!!! But I can tell ya we will be going back...got some things to take care of and this will give me a few trips in the near future and must check these areas out!!!!

Yep that's me...Weather... nice and pretty on our way home....Roads very slick.....Vehicles we went in....We took cuz's car and her ex's truck....front wheel drive car...pick up 4-wheeler in back...no 4-wheel drive for the pic up
A new pick-up and no 4-wheel drive..............a detector on board....No 4-wheel drive....that just ain't right!!!!! Oh...Just picking at the ole ex....Just a reminder...be prepared!!!!!!!!!!! If you have to..... carry an umbrella............... And drink plenty of hot chocolate!!!!!!

Free it was very exciting just to see the signs to the locations and thanks again for the information that you shared!!!!!

Pat

Default Another trip insearch of treasure

Was a nice week here in my part of the country!!!! Today is a different story...Rain has set in. Got the opportunity to take another trip back to this location in search of CW...This family loaded up and took a nice one day trip yesterday...sure didn't want to make that trip back last night...But there will be another day and another hunt!!!!

I took out insearch of any iron signal again and keep in mind this is a large large area to search...But I finally found some of that iron...looks to have been an old home there at once....I could see little specks of that orange brick in the soil...I am wondering how old these bullets are and how they got in the area of the homesite if they are CW...hope someone can give some insight on this...If they are CW could they have been fired before the home was there??? Did they have that orange brick during this time period??? Can someone inlighten me on this fact... Was wondering what kind of bullets these are and just how far would they reach after being fired??? This would give me an idea of how far back or radius to do some searching for any type of headquarters...I am posting all my finds for the day!!! Got alot of copper pieces...Not sure what they where???? Some have holes poked in them....Any ideas???? Got a square nail...So I new this would be a good area to check out!!! Got a button too!!! Was for joy when I saw that!!! Not sure of the age of this button either??? Will be going back for hopefully more good luck in the future!!! Just wanted to update this thread and hope you all injoy the pics and can give me some information on some of the items, especially the button and was wondering what the twisted iron item with the circle at the top was????

wanted to share and hope you all enjoy!!!

I added an x on the location of my finds

HH when ya can!!!
Pat

Default The Button....

.....is certainly mid to late 1800's. US Army....could be Civil War, or Indian Wars period. We have found many just like it in western Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska.

Good find Pat!

He Rip, I am insearch of campsite, headquarters or wherever they may have camped!!!! Was told it was a headquarter area...they grazed their horses on many acres I would say to the right of this pic on just pasture land, plowed I don't know that answer, but over the many years, this is a possibility....Your ESP could be correct!!!! Texans use a different language than us Arkansan's...I was told somewhere down around a Tank...Well I was looking for a huge iron tank??????????? The man kept pointing in an area said it was grown up in some trees!!! I kept looking and I couldn't see a tank for nothing!!! Then I talked with a few Texan's and I asked them what the heck was a Tank......I was told a pond.... ....And guess what there is a large pond I would say North East of the area I marked....I had started down in this area but all I was hitting was barbwire so I ventured up!!! Right before we left again...Went down to the pond area and noticed some large round circled holes in the ground and on the next visit will be checking this location out more!!!! Keep sending me that ESP..... With my friends here at TQ I might just hit a buckle or something very interesting hopefully in the future!!!!!!!! Large creek runs in this area also but sure is a long ways away from this area....Just don't see them being that far away grazing horses if they camped near the creek???? I could be wrong...

Any answer to how far the guns they used would fire?????? Anyone?????

Pat

Mabey the can slaw is whats left of the tank ! The round holes could be hut sites,i would definatly cheak them ! I would think they would have camped near the water.I was thinking if it was plowed you could search it then. This would make it easier to spot sighns of use, like broken glass, brick etc.Try and get some ariel views, they might just show something like old roads, path's etc.I'm not sure of the range of the guns used then but wouldent think it would be more than a couple hundred yards.Good luck and cant wait till they start callin ya the Button, buckel & ring queen !

Laughing with ya on the can slaw!!!! The round holes I would say would be 15 foot round and 3, 4, foot deep...Does this sound like a hut site...What would they do...dig a hole and put a tent over it....help this girl out....I have blonde roots........

This large pond...I was told has been there for many many many years!!!
Holes as I recall were maybe 60, 80 feet from the pond, maybe more???

Wishing for just one buckle....at the moment,,,,now wouldn't that be something to find more!!!!! I love treasure hunting!!!!!!!!!! I think I would fall out with a heart attack for sure if I dug one!!!!! The thrill of the hunt is just awesome!!!!!!!
