Hi Rip to small to be a heel plate...kinda looks like a coin, when you turn it to the side it looks like a perfect edge to a copper coin, either they cut it or maybe a token that was cut to that shape or a whatchamacallit I have no idea about...is the size of a quarter....

I started out with uping the detector a bit...found a few items and then maxed her out and she didn't have a problem at all!!!! I was having a ball!!! Was wondering if that is what is left of a cannon ball by the way

Hey give that a try of running over that detector!!!
Just funnin!!!

Pat

When I was about 15 I spent a couple of summers camping on an island in Charlott Harbor in Florida looking for Pirate treasure. Several caches had been found in the area. After several months digging at one site I was getting packed up to go ashore for a couple of days and get a shower and some supplies when some weekend treasure hunter showed up. He said he had planned to dig where I was so I said go ahed because you won't even get a good start in the two days he was going to be there. As I went back to packing he hollared. On his second shovel full he got two gold coins. Didn't even say thanks LOL.

When I go detecting, I go looking for pop tops and beer cans. I never get dissapointed that way.
