Default 3 Days in Texas

Me and my cuz had a nice trip on New year's! We had a day and a half of work to do and of course I had to check out the area that was said to have been an old trading post with my detector...trading post?? Where???? If it was there...when they dozed,
they did one heck of a job .

Even with no trading post finds, it was a very enjoyable time...I got my cousin to do a little detecting with me...She found the first wheat a 42D and she found the spoon and small axe...These are her first finds and she was loving it!!!

We got to visit 4 different areas that were old homesites. All that remained that was visible, were the wells that were filled in. We didn't get to spend a lot of time in each area as we did alot of jumping around to get familiar with the area.

Then someone mentioned Civil War headquarter's...Can ya imagine this girls eyes

The next morning I had the opportunity to hunt one more old homesite
and found a few items...And then I was off to explore the area of CW. Was taken to the location as to what they thought was the whereabouts and I had about 15 minutes to venture, which turned into 30 mins or so before we headed back to AR, this girl was swinging that coil in hopes of any iron signal. I looked like a bloodhound on someone's trail

Found some shell casings and one item...Couldn't tell ya what it is??? Sure could pass for a trigger guard for a pistol... But probably just an old piece of iron to some other thingamajiggy...

We are returning this weekend, if weather permits, I am going to give that CW area another try...I have a location that we passed that I think could be promising...If only I had more time

All I can speak of in finds for myself was a nice token and a 35S wheat...

Well had to pack up and go...

It was a very nice trip we didn't find that pot of gold but had a wonderful time in the quest for treasure!!!!!!!!!

I have been trying to catch up on posts and I must say, you guys are really bringing home some great finds!!!! Rings and barbers
I see the treasure chest here at treasure quest is overflowing!!! Congrats to everyone!!!!!!

Hey Perry Has been awhile Hope all is well with you!!! Just a little update...

Well we took off again this past weekend taking care of some more things that need attended to and with the cold weather it just halted everything!!! Guess I know how you all up North are feeling!!! Cabin Fever for sure!!! I was just reading some of the posts and took a look at some of the snow pics and was just amazed at the depth that you all get!!! We got some ice and that is a whole different story in it's self...It is exciting when you don't ever see snow or ice but maybe once a year!!!

I was so excited about heading back to Texas to get a try again at CW ground at hopes of just a bullet...But Mother Nature wasn't giving up any treasures to me this weekend...We headed into the area, but the rain and sleet would just not stop!!! I was just in reach...just around the corner...but it wasn't going to happen this weekend.

There will be another trip!!! This girl just doesn't give up!!!
