Default First time finds

For Christmas I got my fisrt metal detector. I coundn't wait to use it but after Church and and visting family it was to late.

The next day I rushed outside and started looking around. In the next 4 days I found 7 wheat pennies, a mecury dime and a intact ww1 .45 bullet with a miss hit primer.

If anyone can give me any advice on general MD please tell me.
Thanks

Default hello natethegreat

First welcome aboard.. you should get feed back on this subject, but anyway your doing fine from what i have read...your finds sound great, keep up the good work...i am lucky if i find some clad, after about a year i probably found $10 worth coins and a merk dime, two rings...still trying to get the motherload... Find different areas, old places, parks, swimming areas...but make sure that you get permission if its private areas and parks. good luck...and post what you find when you get a chance...

With 7 Wheaties and a Merc to your credit, I would say you are of to a good start. Just keep on hunting and learning the machine.
The finds will just keep getting better.
As for general advice, I would suggest you check out the different posts on the forum. There is a lot of great information posted on the site

Thumbs up Welcome

Doesn't sound like you need too much advice, thats pretty impressive finds for a first timer. Keep it up.
Do like Indy says, practice, practice and then practice some more. Also it doesn't matter how good you get with the detector if you swing it over ground that has nothing buried. Do your research.
Good luck and post some pics of those finds.
