Funny you should ask. I have a deal worked out with my nephew (he has a small vending company). Once a week I sort and check the coins that he picks up (usually around $400 of nickels, dimes and quarters. I have been doing this for about three weeks now and haven't found any silver. The other night I had just finished a 2 hour search/sort mission without a find. I decided to run up to the corner drive in for a soda and got back 2 silver Rosevelt dimes in my change. The car hop must have thought I was crazy when I busted out laughing. Had to leave her a $2.00 tip.

I received a buffalo nickle with the date worn away in change from the Safeway that I shop at regularly, struck me as odd that the coin had resurfaced after so long. that's only been a month ago, you just never know.

Wink

In my convenience store we occassionally find silver in the register (mostly silver Washington quarters). My best coins recieved in the store were 3 Eisenhower dollar coins (not silver but 1973, 1974, & 1976). My son took in 4 silver quarters in a sale a few days ago. The best find in the store was made by my son about a year ago. He found an 1861 Indian Head Penny in the small dish that we use for our give a penny ~ take a penny container. Not bad!

in the last 5 years, about 5 of the 65-69 Kennedy halves, about 7 silver Washington quarters, a couple of silver rosies, a few wheats, and 1 silver nickel.

the halves and quarters were probably when some kid must have found a parents collections....

halves were from cafeteria. I spotted them in the drawer by the color difference. asked for them all in change.

quarters were from a gas station. when I got my change back, there were a couple in there, so I immediately asked for $3.00 more in quarters.... :)
