I got out today and headed up to a sparsley populated area of the Stanislaus river. I found a park and started hitting it with a 4" gold nugget coil. Rules for the area are that you can use it where I was at but up river is strictly for panning only and trowel use is the maximum.
the 4" did a great job at pinpointing but it's a lot more work too. I found a 1965 quarter and a lot of copper pennies, 3 clad pennies and 3 dimes. I need to kit out and get a gold pan now to make my trips even more fun! N. California has so much area and so many places that "used to be". |
