Default Ball park is still producing

Had a good day Mding, went back to the same ball field again. I used the 4x6 DD in the outfield and also installed the new hot batteries from Chuck. The batteries showed 13 volts and it made a big differance. I was finding dimes at 11 inches with 4x6DD. Did find another quarter dated 1966.... I know there has to be a 1964 silver in that field.....ah aha ah..

Thanks again for the great batteries Chuck.

27 Pennies
3 nickles
6 dimes
3 quarters

Might be a silly question but.........how does the higher voltage enhance performance?

For Example your White's DFX, with it's eight, 1.5VDC batteries is designed to operate at an optimal voltage of 12VDC. A Tesoro Vaquero on the other hand, is designed to operate on one 9VDC battery, with it's optimal operating voltage of 9VDC.

Detectors will continue to operate as the battery(s) are used up, down to a certain minimal voltage. usually no lower than 7VDC (depends on the machine). Another variable factor is the rate at which a detector uses up that power. For example, utilizing headphones will extend the battery life over operating with the detector's built in speaker.

Also, the engineering "design economy of power use" varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. Some machines either have so many power hungry features that they use power more rapidly, or their circuitry design isn't as efficient as others.

The longer the battery(s) hold a higher voltage, the more efficiently the detector will operate. That goes for depth as well as other circuitry features, including stability.

The OxyRide batteries for example, are engineered to last much longer for circuits that require shorter bursts of power and longer continued lower draws, I.E. the metal detector. A full set of eight OxyRides for your DFX will start out at 13VDC and maintain the higher range of power for longer, than a full set of energizer or copper tops, alkaline batteries, or your rechargeable batteries.

That was quite a long discussion on battery voltages, but I hope it better helps your understanding of how "higher voltage enhances performance."

Good Finds Driwash,

Keep up the good work..!!

Chuck...

Question: Do those OxyRide batteries ONLY come in AA-1.5vdc, or can you get then in 9v also?...
