Default In Search Of An Old Farm House

I've been doing a little research on a long gone farm house about 3 miles from my home. There is nothing there now but a 30 acre recently harvested soy bean field. The old house has been gone for at least 40 - 50 years based on conversations that I've had with some local oldtimers. Through talking with these fellows I have pinned down the approximate location of the house within the large field. Friday I managed to get permission to hunt the area and went for about 2 hours in search of some artifacts to pin down the location even better. The first hour and a half of hunting turned up zilch. The next 30-45 minutes (until darkness) turned up several household relics plus one wheat cent. Those finds made me feel that I was very close to the old house site and I'm looking forward to the next chance I get to hunt there.

Good luck when you return there.
It does sound like you are near the old home site.

That sounds like a great location. I have been hunting spots like that and doing rather well. Digging fields is a lot easier than having to worry about grass too. What year was that wheat cent? Good Luck.
