Hunting has been far and few...was very excited to get out this past weekend, hunted an old homesite...trash everywhere, this was a tough one...had about 45 minutes to hunt before dark and needing to get back home...very excited to come out with a button and token....This area...the soil really had taken a tole on these finds...

Nice finds, Pat! I suspect the button is a US Army uniform button. As for the token, try the "Ask Pappy" section and he might be able to give you more info. With a date of 1919, it certainly must have historical value.

Nice finds Pat ... I know what you mean about tough hunting around old house sites (some are very trashy and over grown) ... I found a similar button not long ago but I haven't researched it yet (I believe it to be WWI or WWII Army) ... anyway ... glad you got chance to get out for a hunt even if for only 45 minutes.

I sure will be glad for spring to get here so we all can do some hunting!!! Looks like you up north are getting hit hard with snow!!! We are getting snow flurries at this moment...but not enough for accumilation on the ground. After work went by one of the schools and their sign was reading 27 degrees. We will be off work next week for winter break and I sure hope to get to do some ring hunting!!!! Hoping for some nice weather, hope this doesn't continue!!!

I Thought the date on the token was really neat!!! I will do some researching on this company to find out more about this token.

The button I think would be maybe WWI maybe....Not sure did find a site that tells more about the back markings and shank types...Of course I got kicked off line and couldn't retrieve this real good site that explained the different types of shanks for there age from CW and up. But still in the process of learning more about these military buttons...One thing I did notice is the back markings, I can't read all the letters on the back but looks different from the waterbury button co. Just thought someone might no the company that made this button from viewing some of the letters on the back...which is not much....Thanks for viewing!!! And hope you all get rid of that snow and get out there and do some digging so I can view some real old finds!!!! Which I enjoy so much!!!
