Default First silver of 2007 w/new detector

This year I thought I'd upgrade to the Minelab Explorer SE. I was a little worried because I was so comfortable/familiar with my old rig and didn't want to spend alot of time learning the new SE. Well.. learning the SE is a lot of work, and I decided I'm going to use this semi-frozen/wet mess of early Spring to get to know it.

I thought I'd focus on a 'hunted out' park and stay in there until I get a good feel for the unit. The first two days were rough getting use to the pinpoint and ID'ing targets, but by the end of day two, I felt like I was getting a vibe of the unit.

Today, I thought I'd switch to a smaller coil and make some adjustments. Well, looks like they paid off. Walked away with the 3 keepers, including a Merc!

I'm excited about the future.. I still have a ton to learn on the machine, but I feel like we're both communicating on the same channel now.. heh

Congratulations on your first finds & silver for the year.
I had a rather tough time learning my ExplorerII, but after I got to know it better day by day it was well worth all the aggravation.
Now I am just like you and anxiously awaiting the arrival of springtime.

Very nice start for 2007. Hang in there, before you know it that new RIG will start to look like the back of your hand.
