Default Todays finds and question for Pappy

I went to an old home site today. 60 degrees and sprinkling off and on, wind about 25 miles an hour. Found a 1937 Wheaty, some bottles, 2 old buckles of some sort, and some other items, an old ranger toy gun, other odds and ends I'm not sure what they are, and alot of whatsits not pictured. I had a great time and feel like I've done an honest days work.

Pap, can you tell me how old the bottles are and what they are. The 2 large bottles were found about 5 inches down beside the foundation and under 2 large roots. I was digging a nickle tone and I saw the side of one. I know this house was torn down in the 1940's. Anyway thanks and happy huntin.

Nice household relic finds and bottles ... those kind of finds at that site make you feel like silver coins are hiding somewhere nearby!

Thanks guys. Pappy, you should see my little tator rooter now compared to the pic on my post. He's about 2 now, and loves to dig with me. He has a little brother now about 6 months old. I don't know if I'm going to go broke feeding them first or buying all the metal detectors they are going to tear up. ha ha.

YEP...Bet they are both growing like weeds...Get your pocketbook ready for when you have to DIG into IT when they say "Daddy can we get our own detectors?"

Nice Finds!

Im still new and need to learn the proper digging techniques like probing,I broke a small hexagonal medicine bottle in 3 pieces yesterday I sure would have liked to have it intact

We were doing hurricane cleanup in the waterways last winter for FEMA,we pulled eveything visible from 20 ft to the shoreline in designated zones using divers and waders,I drove a lil boat that carried all the stuff the waders picked up,it was a slow process at 3-4 knots. So I was always hopping on the floats/barges getting out the old bottles..The oldest I have with date was Oct 1 1899...It has some chips but overall intact,I also have several I think are old just with no date.I will post them sometime.
