Recycled my finds.

I decided to convert some of my gold finds to bullion and cash. Here is what I received in the mail today. Never owned one before!

So how do you convert your finds? Do you sell them and buy gold, do you trade them, tell us the story please?

I suppose I should have said something about what I did and how I did it.

I reviewed all the gold items that I had. From 156 gold items, I selected 34 things that I knew I would never have a use for, that were not doing anything except taking up space. They were mainly plain wedding bands and pieces of necklaces, a watch case with a rusted watch, pieces with names or initials on them and I sent them off to the refiner.

They allow you to chose how you want payment and I told them I wanted an ingot and the rest in cash to use to upgrade some of my equipment. I need new headphones and a shaft for my Excalibur. So, this is how I decided to finance it.

The settlement was a bit less than I had hoped. I trust the refiner and know that they have an excellent reputation and equipment.

I will say that I learned that all jewelry in my area that is marked is not necessary correctly marked and anything unmarked may test good to a simple test but you need the proper equipment and technology to be 100% certain.

I will use them again should I decide to send more in for melting in the future.

I haven't found anything like that before and need to REALLY work my metal detector to the limit. How about you bury this in your back yard and let me find it a couple times? Nice choice in bullion.
